I’m Alan Wang.
I’m a builder by nature, a long-term thinker by instinct, and someone who believes life is meant to be lived with intention, curiosity, and forward motion.
By trade, I’m the CEO and co-owner of a family-owned company that’s been around for over 50 years. We design and manufacture premium lighting and adventure products for people who choose the paths less traveled. What started as a business lesson in responsibility, risk, and resilience became a lifelong education in leadership, relationships, and belief.
But this site isn’t about a title.
It’s about how I think, how I learn, and how I try to live.
The Work
Professionally, I spend my days building teams, shaping culture, and making decisions with imperfect information. I’m drawn to strategy, systems, and momentum but I care just as much about how people feel while doing meaningful work.
I believe:
- Quality relationships drive quality results
- Culture is not what you say, it’s what you practice
- Ownership beats blame
- Curiosity beats judgment
- Small, consistent actions compound into extraordinary outcomes
I’m energized by building things that last. Not just products or companies, but belief, trust, and capability in people.
The Personal
Personally, I’m a husband, a dad of two boys, and someone constantly working to be more present, patient, and intentional.
I grew up between cultures, shaped by immigrant parents who taught me the value of hard work, humility, and responsibility before I ever understood the words for them. Those roots still guide how I lead, how I parent, and how I measure success.
I train, I track marcos, I reflect, and I experiment. Not because I’m chasing optimization for its own sake, but because I’m interested in understanding what creates energy, clarity, and resilience over the long arc of life.
My Philosophy
At the core, I believe this:
- Beliefs create limits. Shift the belief, and new outcomes become possible.
- Progress doesn’t require certainty, just commitment.
- You don’t need to be fearless; you need to be willing.
- Life moves fast. The goal isn’t to slow it down, but to live it fully.
This blog exists as a place to think out loud, share lessons in real time, and document what I’m learning across leadership, health, family, and personal growth. Some posts will be polished. Others will be raw. All of them are honest.
If something here resonates, great.
If it challenges you, even better.
Life is short. Live it long.
